PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We addressed brick repair and tuck pointing problems on a 3-storey, multi-residential apartment building in Forest Hill, Toronto. Brick repairs were needed given brick spalling, cracked mortar, and overall brick deterioration and weathering. The owners were concerned about potential building envelope water penetration and falling bricks were a potential danger to pedestrians below. The job was well suited for Armour Restoration given our expertise in apartment and condominium brick repair projects.

ACTION PLAN

• We began by notifying management and tenants of the intended work to coordinate building access.
• Our team of masonry and brick repair experts prepared the site by raising safety barriers and mobilizing our equipment, including a Genie lift.
• To fix the issues we performed extensive tuck pointing and brick repair and replacement that matched the building’s historic architecture.
• Once the brick repairs and tuck pointing work was done we conducted the teardown and clean-up of the site.
